1. Take Non-Interactive into an Interactive Medium.
Once upon a time, people decided to make ebooks for children. They were called many things -- electronic popup books, Living Books (TM) and so one. Some worked, and others failed miserably. Non interactive media doesn't translate well interactive media unless it is designed very carefully (see the Living Books). Children expect to control things, and dive into the story and pictures.
